This was quite possibly the number one brewery that I found to do in Vancouver through my few online searches. Probably this and Granville Island brewery, but that is closed for construction, and says it will be open sometime between now and the end of the summer. Those two always pop up in a best bars in Vancouver search. And that information is irrelevant to this specific blog so moving on we are. This place seems to be incredibly popular because the brewery is right inside Stanley Park, which is prime location for an end of the park or beach day drink. Perfect end to a Stanley Park day trip.
The Run
The run was enjoyable, on the very short side and was more of a flush of the legs than really getting going. Also had to do with the fact that I was trying to crush a few runs into not a few days. It was the exact same route as my last run, except I stopped shorter instead of looping around. Only ended up being 1.67 miles and I ran it in 15 minutes, so a 9:06 pace, which is fine enough if I was going to be running longer. Sometime I would like to do a whole lap of the park. Not much to discuss about this run really. The views were incredible of the ocean and mountainous backdrop, and the park trail was a fun run for the very minimal amount of time I spent on it. I would like to get lost running around the trails in the park.
The Pub
The brewery was quite cool and extremely busy. The park was hosting what was the largest grassroots amateur tennis tournament in North America when we were there, so the surrounding area was packed as well. We didn’t get a seat inside, but they had just opened up an outdoor beer garden so after a short wait we were seated there. Which was much better than being inside on such a nice hot day. I met some friends there and we had four of us in total, company is always better. I got their blonde ale, which was quite good and refreshingly light. Only MAJOR downside of this place and yes it affects the review is that I got a parking ticket!! I didn’t even know that you had to pay for parking until I got back to my car, and after looking around it wasn’t unclear, but wasn’t that clear that you were supposed to pay, which is a bummer and a waste of 70 bucks. Other than that, the place was enjoyable and I would go back.
So the run was short and sweet, brewery was gorgeous, parking enforcement was strict.
